How to crochet - cat hat - step by step - instructions

Cat hat for 1 to 3 years old girl

You will need:

Yarn for hook size 2-3mm, about 50g (up to you, I used acrylic yarn)

3 different colors 

Flower or  bow for decoration (up to you)

Abbreviations

st(s) - stitch (es)

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet

1) Magic ring

2) Chain 1, 9hdc into the ring

3) Mark where is going to be end of the round and start of the new one, 2hdc into same st (repeat around)

4) Replace marker, hdc into next st, 2hdc into same st (repeat around)

5) Replace marker, hdc into next 2sts, 2hdc into same st (repeat around)

6) Replace marker, hdc into next 4 sts, 2hdc into same st (repeat around)

7) Replace marker, hdc into next 6sts, 2hdc into same st (repeat around)

8) Replace marker, hdc into next 8sts, 2hdc into same st, add sts this way until you have a needed size (I have 81st/round) you can find the hat sizing chart here on my blog

9) Continue without adding sts until you have the needed height of the hat +- 2cm (19 to 21cm)

Ear-covers

1) Chain 2, hdc into next 14 sts

2) Chain 2, hdc into next 14 spaces (repeat 3 rows)

3) Chain 2, reduce 1 st into start of the row and 1 st into end of the row, continue until you have 2sts. Chain 2 between the last 2hdc, bind off

 Make another ear-cover on the opposite side but more to the back of hat (see image)

Dc around the base of the hat and ear-covers with base color, change color and repeat one more round, bind off

Ears (top of the hat)

1) Attach the yarn to the 4th round from the top (center) of the hat

2) Pull the yarn and chain 1

3) Insert the hook and pull the yarn by making sc around the 5th round from the center of the hat

4) Turn the hat (to crochet second row) 3hdc into space, chain 1, 3hdc into same space, attach the yarn to the 3rd and than to the2nd round from center of the hat

5) Turn the hat, hdc into space between the hat and the hdc, hdc into next 2 spaces, 2hdc into same space (top of ear), chain 1, 2hdc into same space (top of ear) hdc into next 3 spaces. Attach the yarn by sl st around 7th and than around the 8th round from the center of hat

6) Turn the hat, hdc into the next 5 spaces, 2hdc into the same spase, chain 1, 2hdc into the same space (top of the ear), hdc into the next 5 spaces, bind off

7) Crochet on the opposite side the same way and another couples near first ones with the different color (light or white)

8) Crochet ears together by sc or sc and back way sc with the main color

Crochet eyes and nose by creating the round

1) 9hdc into the magic ring

2) attach by sl st and sl st around, bind off

Crochet summer hat - free - step by step instructions

Summer hat for 1 to 3 years old girl

You will need:

Cotton yarn for hook size 2-3mm, about 50g

3 different colors (up to you)

Flower for decoration (up to you)

Abbreviations

st(s) - stitch (es)

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet

1) magic ring, chain 2, 8 hdc into the ring

2) sl st, chain 2, hdc around hdc of the previous round, chain 1, repeat around (8 x hdc)

3) chain 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 2hdc into space, chain 1, hdc around hdc of the previous round, 

chain 1, repeat around

4) chain 2, 3hdc into next st, chain 1, hdc around hdc of the previous round, chain 1, repeat around

5) chain 2, hdc into same st, hdc into next 2 sts, chain1, hdc around hdc of the previous round, chain 1, repeat around

6) continue by adding sts the same whey untill you have 12 to 14 sts (about 5 to 6cm) between sl sts 

7) continue without adding sts until the high of hat is 16cm

8) sc around

9) chain 1, sc, 2sc into next st, repeat around

10) sc around

11) sc into next 2 sts, 2sc into next st, repeat around

12) sc around, repeat next 5 rounds

13) change color, sc around

14) chain 1, sl st into next st, chain 1, repeat around

For decoration you can crochet flower or buy some flower or other beautiful decoration

Crochet & knit dress - free - step by step instructions

Beautiful dress for 1 to 2 years old princess

You will need:

Cotton yarn for hook size 2-3mm, about 150g

Knitting needles 2,25mm - 3mm

Two different size hooks - 2,5mm (for top of the dress) and 3mm (for bottom of the dress)

4 buttons (up to you)

3 different colors (up to you)

Abbreviations

st(s) - stitch (es)

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

dc - double crochet

hdc - half double crochet

knit&purl - knit 1st row, purl 2nd row & repeat

Top (front) of the dress

1) Create 70sts to the knitting needles

2) Knit&purl (repeat until 5cm or 20 rows)

3) Reduce next 6 rows in the start of row by knitting or purling two stitches together 6-6-2-2-1-1 (after reducing you should have 52 sts)

4) Knit&purl about 6 cm or 24 rows

5) Split stitches. Reduce (by knitting and purling two stitches together) next 5 rows from the center 

4-3-2-2-1 (after reducing you should have 14 sts) 

6) Knit&purl about 6 cm or 20-24 rows (depends of how long shoulder area you want) Bind off 

7) Repeat same steps for the other side

Top (back) of the dress

1) Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 (like front of the dress)

2) Knit&purl 8-9cm or 34 rows

3) Split stitches. Reduce (by knitting and purling two stitches together) next 5 rows from the center 

4-3-2-2-1 (after reducing you should have 14 sts) Same both sides

4) Knit&purl 3,5cm or 10 rows, bind off

5) Sew the sides together (front and back sides)

6) sc around the top of the dress (hook size 2,5mm)

7) sl st around the top of the dress (same st of previous rounds sc)

8) sl st around top of the dress 

Bottom of the dress (hook size 3 mm)

1) dc around (140 sts)

2) chain 2, sc into next 3 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, dc into next 2 sts, skip 1, 2 dc into same st, chain 2, 2 dc into same st (2dc, chain2, 2dc) skip 1, dc into next 2 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, sc into next 3 sts (repeat around)

3) Chain 3, dc into next st, skip 1 st, dc into next 7 sts, 3dc into space, chain 2, 3dc into same space, dc into next 7 sts, skip 1, dc into next 2 sts. Repeat every 5th around

4) Chain 3, dc into next st, skip 1 st, dc into next 7 sts, 2dc into space, chain 2, 2dc into same space, dc into next 7 sts, skip 1, dc into next 2 sts. Repeat 4 rounds

5) When dress is enough long (I made 30 rounds) finish it the same way like the top of dress by sc around and sl st around (colors up to you)

Shoulder area is up to you, you can sew it together or make button halls but I bought these beautiful buttons a long time ago (maybe 2 years) and finally I can use the buttons :)
