Everybody wants socks - knitting socks

I think i will be knitting rest of the year but usually I`m crocheting!
Why? Because everybody wants socks :D
Last year I did it every day 8 to 15 hours a day!!!
Crazy? - yes :D
Difficult? - yes
Do I like it? - YES, I LOVE IT! :)

Because I don`t have a time to design new models now (because of socks) i will like to present few sock model.

If you have a questions or if you want to know how i did it, whatever about knitting or crocheting you can ask me on facebook

One of my friends asked me to make Harley Davidson logo socks (very cool friend!)

Because my friend have a smaller leg than her husband we made smaller socks only with text

And because she have a very "sweet" friend he asked to make red socks but i don`t want to show the logo of socks on my blog lol

She asked socks also for her ex boyfriend...

...and grandmother... :D

Here are few models I made before sock season ;)

So if you have some question, feel free to ask me ;) Because I do not have a time to make patterns I can give you advise ;)

Knit & crochet owl hat - step by step pattern

Here is my first knitted pattern and my come back after long summer holidays :)
Holidays - don`t mean I was traveling or relaxing on the beach... It mean I took the break from my blog.

Winter is coming and we want new patterns and warm clothes to our loved ones <3
Here is simple and easy owl hat pattern - you can size and make it very easy and quickly.

I made it for 2-5 years old child
2-5 years - head circumference 46 - 48.5 cm (18 - 19 inches)
hat height - 19 cm (7.25 - 7.5 inches)
For knitting i needed 96 stitches

If you want to make hat for yourself you just double your head circumference cm to stitches

First you knit it as height as you want (mine color)

switch color and continue

You will need a pair of eyes and nose, you can crochet or make peaces from different materials

First you add nose and eyes

Sew the pieces together

For wings use 10 stitches (about 8-10 rows) then reduce until there is only 1 left

And of course hello from Choms and Muris lol

Crochet flower chart tunic pattern - step by step

I tried out two different cotton yarns
Turquoise - very soft for 2,5 mm hook (tunic size 1-3 year)
Red-tone yarn - thicker for 3 mm hook (tunic size 2-4 year)
Tunic is good choice because first you can use it like dress, later like tunic and like shirt in the end :)

You will need:
Cotton yarn for 2,5 to 3,5 mm hook (I recommend 2 colors)
14 pearls (not necessary)
Hook (2,5 to 3,5 mm)
2 or 3 buttons (I use 2 buttons)
Good mood :)

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet

tunic size 2-4 year

tunic size 1-3 year

Chain 101
Hdc - repeat the whole row

Add 14 pearls on the white yarn

Continue with white yarn
7 sc
Chain 11
Pull pearl

Sc into chain 6 from hook (sl st if you don`t want to add pearl)

Chain 5, turn around

Dc into ring

Chain 3, dc into ring (repeat 4 times)
Chain 2, turn around (turn back)

Dc into ring, insert hook into chain 5 from flower chart

2 dc into ring, chain 1, sc into ch between spaces
Chain 1, dc into next space, insert hook into st of first flower
Continue (3dc into space, chain 1, sc into st between spaces, chain 1)
sc into last 8 stitches

This chart I used for bottom of tunic

Next steps - when flower chart row is ready
Change color
Chain 5, sl st into flower chart st, chain 6

Hdc into next st, repeat the whole row

Make 2 or 3 button hole (how big depends on how big button you have)

Continue the whole row by chain 5, sl st into flower chart st, chain 8, sl st into flower chart st

Make other side the same way like button hole side

Next step - when the other side is ready
5 hdc into chain 5 space, 8 hdc into chain 8 space

Mark 24 st for back of tunic(from both sides)
Mark 46 for front of tunic
Leave rest of st for shoulders (about 48 st for each)
Hdc into next st(s) until marker, chain 10 (for armpit), hdc into next marker st
(repeat until the end of row)

Change color
Chain 3, 3 dc into same st, skip 2, sl st, chain5, skip 2, sl st, chain 5, skip 2, sl st (repeat around)

It was difficult to figure out how to connect rounds and I forgot to take pic but it is easy when you remember to leave 2 chain 5 spaces! (every second round you will need to make 3 sl st back way into st(s) of chain 5)

You start second row by making 2 sl st back way into chain 5 st(s) and sl st into chain 5 space.
3 dc into chain 3 space of row 1, chain 3, sl st on the top of 3 dc, chain 5, sl st into chain 5 space, chain 5, sl st into chain 5 space. (repeat around)
Make 25 rounds (you can make more if you want it to look like a dress)

Last two rows before changing the color
chain 5, sl st into st (top of 3 dc) or chain 5 space (repeat around)

4 dc into each chain 5 space
Change color and start flower chart (make 10 sc between flowers or 11 if you have more st(s))

Remember to connect last flower to first flower

Change color and repeat the same way you made top of tunic
chain 5, sl st into flower chart st, chain 8, sl st into flower chart st
5 hdc into chain 5 space, 8 hdc into chain 8 space

Bottom of tunic
Chain 3, 3 dc into same st, skip 3, sl st (repeat around)

If something remained unclear feel free to ask

Simple and easy crochet hat pattern - step by step

Very simple and beautiful
You will need:
Cotton yarn (I use white)
3 mm hook
Bow for decoration

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet

Size: 74 cm - 9 month

Make magic ring
9 hdc into ring, mark (I like to use a peace of yarn for marking when i am crocheting hats but you can use marker if you like)
Remember do not connect rounds because it will make the ugly line

2 hdc into same st, repeat around, mark

Hdc into next st, 2 hdc into next st, repeat 2 rounds, mark

Hdc into next 2 st(s), 2 hdc into next st, repeat around, mark

Hdc into next 4 st(s), 2 hdc into next st, repeat around, mark

Hdc into next 6 st(s), 2 hdc into next st, repeat around, mark

Hdc into next 8 st(s), 2 hdc into next st, repeat until you have ~90 st(s) (mark each round to be able to count st(s) )

When you have ~90 st(s) - hdc into next 90 st(s) (repeat 6 rounds)

2 sl st into next 2 st(s), chain 2

Hdc into next st, chain 1.
2 hdc into next 2 st(s), chain 1, repeat around (2 hdc into same st every 5th of 2 hdc)

Recommendation - connect rounds like on dress pattern I posted earlier

Chain 3, 2 hdc into space, chain 1 (repeat until hat height is 17 cm - top of crown to bottom of ear)

Last round
3 dc into next space, sl st into next st (top of 2 hdc) (repeat around)

Sew bow or other decoration and hat is ready :)
