Crochet & knit dress - free - step by step instructions

Beautiful dress for 1 to 2 years old princess

You will need:

Cotton yarn for hook size 2-3mm, about 150g
Knitting needles 2,25mm - 3mm
Two different size hooks - 2,5mm (for top of the dress) and 3mm (for bottom of the dress)
4 buttons (up to you)
3 different colors (up to you)

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet
knit&purl - knit 1st row, purl 2nd row & repeat

instructions dress

Top (front) of the dress
1) Create 70sts to the knitting needles
2) Knit&purl (repeat until 5cm or 20 rows)



3) Reduce next 6 rows in the start of row by knitting or purling two stitches together 6-6-2-2-1-1 (after reducing you should have 52 sts)


4) Knit&purl about 6 cm or 24 rows


5) Split stitches. Reduce (by knitting and purling two stitches together) next 5 rows from the center 
4-3-2-2-1 (after reducing you should have 14 sts) 

6) Knit&purl about 6 cm or 20-24 rows (depends of how long shoulder area you want) Bind off 


7) Repeat same steps for the other side


Top (back) of the dress

1) Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 (like front of the dress)
2) Knit&purl 8-9cm or 34 rows


3) Split stitches. Reduce (by knitting and purling two stitches together) next 5 rows from the center 
4-3-2-2-1 (after reducing you should have 14 sts) Same both sides
4) Knit&purl 3,5cm or 10 rows, bind off


5) Sew the sides together (front and back sides)


6) sc around the top of the dress (hook size 2,5mm)


7) sl st around the top of the dress (same st of previous rounds sc)


8) sl st around top of the dress 


Bottom of the dress (hook size 3 mm)
1) dc around (140 sts)


2) chain 2, sc into next 3 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, dc into next 2 sts, skip 1, 2 dc into same st, chain 2, 2 dc into same st (2dc, chain2, 2dc) skip 1, dc into next 2 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, sc into next 3 sts (repeat around)


3) Chain 3, dc into next st, skip 1 st, dc into next 7 sts, 3dc into space, chain 2, 3dc into same space, dc into next 7 sts, skip 1, dc into next 2 sts. Repeat every 5th around


4) Chain 3, dc into next st, skip 1 st, dc into next 7 sts, 2dc into space, chain 2, 2dc into same space, dc into next 7 sts, skip 1, dc into next 2 sts. Repeat 4 rounds


5) When dress is enough long (I made 30 rounds) finish it the same way like the top of dress by sc around and sl st around (colors up to you)


Shoulder area is up to you, you can sew it together or make button halls but I bought these beautiful buttons a long time ago (maybe 2 years) and finally I can use the buttons :)

Crochet booties - free pattern - step by step

Beautiful and warm wool - booties for girl or boy 

You will need:

wool yarn for 3 mm hook size (colors are up to you)
3 mm hook and knitting needles (2 -3 mm)
2 flowers for decoration if you want

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet

Here is some example of colors and you can make same model for boys, just choose the right colors and leave the flower away

1. chain 20


2. sc into next 18 sts


3. 6 sc into same st


4. sc into next 17 sts, 2 sc into last st of the round


5. sl. st, chain 1, sc into next 20 sts, 2 sc into next 3 sts, sc into next 18 sts, 2 sc into next 2 sts, sc into last st of the round


6. sl st, chain 1, sc into next 10 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, dc into next 7 sts, 2 dc into next 6 sts, dc into next 7 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, sc into next 9 sts, 2 sc into next 2 sts, sc into next 2 sts, 2 sc into last st of the round


7.  sl st, chain 1, sc into next 11 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, dc into next 7 sts, 2 dc into next 3 sts, dc into next 4 sts, 2 dc into next 3 sts, dc into next 7 sts, hdc into next 3 sts, sc into next 12 sts, 2 sc into next 2 sts, sc into next 2 sts, 2sc into next 2 sts, sc into last st of the round


8. sl st, chain 1, sc around


9. Make another base and connect by sl st around, sew peaces together also in the middle of base




Top of the bootie

1. dc into last rouns sl, repeat around


2. dc around, insert the hook between dc of previous round (around dc of previous round) from the front and every second, from the back  (around dc of previous round) 


3. repeat last round


4. Create sts to the knitting needles (15 sts on each back side needles and rest of sts on the front side needles, same count)


5. purl 1st round (but knit 4 sts in the middle, front of bootie)
1 knit and 1 purl around (knit 4 sts in the middle, front of bootie) reduce 1 st both sides of "knit4" until you have 10st of each front side needles (you should leave 15 sts on the back side needles)


6. knit 12 rounds (or more its up to you)
bind off


7. Create sts on to the knitting needles (on the top of first round of "knit12", from the inside)


8. 1 knit and 1 purl, repeat 4 rounds


9. repeat steps 6 to 8 two more times




10. Create sts on to the knitting needles (on the top of first round of "knit12", from the inside)
1 knit and 1 purl (repeat 20 rounds and bind off)

Crochet owl slippers - free pattern - wool slippers

You will need:
Wool yarn (pink or other base color, white, black and orange) for hook size 4mm or 3mm (I use 3mm hook and wool yarn for size 4)

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet
2dc tog -2 dc togther

  1. Chain 20
  2. Sc in to second st from hook, sc into next st (6sc into fir sof chain 20) sc into next st, 2sc into last st of the round, sl st, chain 1 before next round
  3. Sc around (front of slipper - 2sc into next 3st) (End of the round - 2sc into 20th st from front of slipper) sl st, chain 1 before next round
  4. 10sc into next 10sts, hdc into next 3sts, dc into next 7sts, 2dc into next 6sts, dc into next 7st, hdc into next 3sts, sc into next 9sts, 2sc into next 2sts, sc into next 2sts, sl st, chain 1
  5. Sc into next 11sts, hdc into next 3sts, dc into next 7sts, 2dc into next 3sts, dc into next 4sts, 2dc into next 3sts, dc into next 7sts, hdc into next 3sts, sc into next 11sts, 2sc into next 2sts, sc into next sts untill the end of the round, sl st
  6. sl st around the base
  7. sc around the base (from the inside)
  8. Nect 3 rounds sc around (from the outside)
  9. Sc around (reduce 14st by sc from the front of slipper)
  10. Sc around
  11. Sc around (reduce 10sts by 2dc tog from the front of slipper)
  12. Make eyes and nose before next round. Eyes - magic ring, chain 3, 10hdc into the ring, sl st on the top of chain 3. Sew eyes with black yarn or use buttons
  13. Beak. Chain 5, sc into 3rd st from hook, hdc into next st, dc into last st. 
  14. Sew eyes and the beak to the front of slipper
  15. Sc around (reduce 3sts from front by 2dc tog) and one more round sc (make 40st - round)
  16. Take knitting needles. 10 loops on each needle and knit about 20rounds like sock - see my video tutorial on YouTube
  17. End iff knitting and change color pink to white (crochet next round) Chain 4, skip 1, sc into next, chain 3, slip 1, sc into next(repeat around)
Work with white yarn around the base - back way only. Chain 3, skip 1, sc into next st. Chain 2, skip 1, sc into next st (repeat around)

Crochet party slippers - free pattern - step by step

You will need:
About 30 - 40g cotton yarn for hook size 2,5mm or 3mm (I use 2,5mm hook and snow white yarn)

Abbreviations
st(s) - stitch (es)
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet

Slipper size 0 - 6 months :)

Chain 20


18sc into next sts

6sc into same st

sc into next sts. 2sc into last st of the round

sl st. Chain 1. 20sc into next sts, 2sc into same st (repeat 3 sts) 19sc into next sts 2sc into same st, sc

sl st. Chain 1. 10sc into next sts, hdc into next 3 sts, dc into next 7sts. 2dc into same st (repeat 6sts) dc into next 7sts, hdc into next 3 sts, sc into next 10sts, 2sc into same st, sc into next 2sts

sl st, chain 1. Sc into next 11sts, hdc into next 3sts, dc into next 7sts, dc into same st (repeat 3sts) dc into next 4sts, dc into same st (repeat 3sts) dc into next 7sts, hdc into next 3sts, sc into next 11sts, 2sc into same st (repeat 2sts) sc into next 2sts

sl st, chain 1. sc around. Make 2sc into same st x 2 on each "corner" (front right and left side and left side before finishing round)

sl st, chain1. Turn base around. Sc into next sts (repeat 4 rounds)


sc around and reduce 14sts from front of slipper

sc into next st (repeat around)

sc around and reduce (by 2dc together) 20sts from front of slipper

sc around and reduce (by 2dc together) 10sts from front of slipper

18sc into next sts, chain 16, 8sc into next sts (there must be 42sts on the end of this round)

sc into next st (repeat 3 rounds)
chain 2 (counts as 1st dc) dc into same st. chain 1, skip 1st, dc into next 2sts (repeat around)

sl st between 2dc (space), 8dc into next space (repeat around)

sl st down way or cut off the yarn and work between 2dc (spaces). Sc into st between 2dc (only one side of st = 1 yarn), chain 3 (repeat around)


sl st into next space, 10dc into next space (repeat around)

sl st into top of previous rounds 1st dc, chain 3, sl st into next 2sts (repeat around and cut off the yarn)

Work around the base. Bind yarn, skip 1. 5hdc into same st, skip 1, sl st into next st (repeat around)
